I’m a recent college grad with a BFA in sculpture. (I know, my field isn’t easy). I’m working on writing my resume and such and I just seem to be struggling. I’ve had a lot of jobs, but most of them were crap so I quit them. Which, doesn’t give me a good track record.

but here’s my real problem: I have experience in lots of things, I just don’t know how to write it all down to make me look good. I’m excellent in customer service and organization, but other than that, I can’t think of anything to say. Could you give me some examples of what you used on your resumes. Just to help send me in the right direction! Much appreciated!

Your resume is simply that – a listing of your past experience and education. Be truthful, but don’t elaborate more than necesary.

Your opportunity to impress is the cover letter. People don’t expect recent grads to have long stable employment histories. They are looking for people that fit their needs, are willing to work hard and will make a positive contribution to their organization. The letter is where you present your strengths. If you do well in the letter, they will only look at your resume for confirmation of degree and past employment. If you don’t write a good introductory letter, they won’t bother with your resume…
