Okay, so I’m applying online and have filled NEARLY everything out, but there’s that one big box. The little red required star is staring me in the face, but I have no idea what to put there.

WHAT DO I PUT THERE?
I’ve been a reliable babysitter and I’m a hardworking person, but I’ve never had a job much less a job in retail. I think I’d be a good fit, but because I’m sixteen and I’ve heard that they’re a bit wary on hiring people of the minimum age limit, I don’t know how to convince them I’m ready to learn and excel in any position they give me.
Should I put down that I baby sit? Should I not put anything? Should I put down that this is the first job I’m applying for in my life, but I’m ready to learn the ropes?

At age 16 you’re not expected to have much work experience. Definitely put down that you’ve worked as a babysitter. You can embellish it a bit by saying something like: “I have been working after-school and on weekends as a babysitter, providing safe and loving care for neighborhood children. This work has taught me the importance of being reliable and trustworthy, providing quality service to my employers.”
