Question by Monica H: How do you write a resume for a 16year old?
Hi! So I am trying to apply for a job and there isnt an actual application form. There was just a sign that said to email your letter of intent and resume to (insert email here). So I was wondering how to write a resume given that I am only 16 and dont really have a resume…Like what format do i write it in and what do i say? Thanks for the help!

Google websites that help you with format. There are several ways to format a resume – it depends on what kind of job you are applying for.

As for what goes in it. Put things you are involved in – school activities, volunteer work, any jobs you may have had. If you have any certifications (CPR, first aid etc.) those are good things to mention

A letter of intent is your way of introducing yourself – talk about your strengths and why you should be considered for the job.

Remember to have someone look it over – if your school has a business teacher – that would be a good person to ask.
